Lightness – Frequently asked questions

To create an account you need to download the application at the store (Apple and Android).
Once downloaded, you can choose to create the account in three different ways:

1. Via Google. As soon as you consent to Lightness to use your Google account, a new Lightness account will be created. Your Google email address will be assigned to your Lightness profile, while your username will match your email name. You can change your username at any time.
2. Via Mail. By accessing “Continue with email” and then “Register” you can create a profile by entering your username, your e-mail address, and your password;
3. Via Facebook. In this case, as soon as you consent to Lightness to use your Facebook account, a new Lightness account will be created. Your Facebook email address will be assigned to your Lightness profile, while your username will match your email name. You can change your username at any time.
4. Via Guest Mode. This method provides for the creation of an instant user. You will not have to choose any username, password and email. Lightness will create a profile for you. You can later change the data at any time. To learn more, we invite you to learn more about the guest mode.

In all modalities and at the end of the registration process, you will receive a welcome e-mail from our group.

However, we recommend that you use Guest Monly only at the beginning of your experience, since the guest profiles are no longer accessible after the first logout.

This means that you will lose all the lanterns you have saved and any comments you left behind.

Yes. You can change it at any time by going to Settings > Profile. In this section you can change your username.

The username must be unique and between 5 and 20 characters in length. Possible characters are alphanumeric and underscore “_”.

By specifying the city, the system automatically identifies the country of belonging. In this way you will be able to receive many more lanterns linked to your country of origin.

Currently not every city of the world are in our sistem. We are working on it.

Losing someone in our community is always sad.

In any case, to delete your profile you can send an email to info@lightness.app with the request for deletion.

The request must come from the e-mail address associated with the profile for which the deletion is requested.

You can create as many lanterns as you want through the “Create” tab.
Inside the sheet of paper you can type your thoughts, your ideas, your secrets and share them through the “Fly” button.
Also, in your sheet of paper you can choose (top right) to send a lantern anonymously. To find out what an anonymous lantern is, see the question “Why should I send an anonymous lantern”.
We remind you that in order to create / read / comment on a lantern you need to log in with a profile.

You can send an anonymous lantern whenever you want.

Many people prefer the anonymous lantern in order not to be judged. The anonymous form allows you to send a lantern with an “Anonymous” signature.

In this way, those who read your lantern cannot trace it back to you, and to your profile.
An anonymous lantern has the same characteristics as signed lanterns. They can be commented, saved and shared.

The lanterns that you have sent anonymously will be visible in your profile under the “Send” tab.

Please remember that every content that you send must follow Lightness rules.

You can create an anonymous lantern via the “Create” tab.
Inside the sheet of paper you can type your thoughts, your ideas, your secrets.
At the top right you will find a small toggle that shows your signature (or username) in the title of the sheet.
To send an anonymous lantern you can turn off the switch. This way your signature will be replaced by the anonymous signature.
When you have finished writing your lantern you can fly it through the air using the “Fly” button.

Simply choose any of the lanterns on the home page.

According to the licensing rules set by Envato, this is not allowed. If it is installed in two places permanently, then it requires two licenses.

In Lightness a level is a goal that can be reached through the experience gained in the app.

In Lightness there are the following levels, each of which is reachable through incremental experiences.

• Novice (0-1000 of experience)
• Nomad (1000-2500 of experience)
• Master ( 2000-5000 of experience)
• Grandmaster (over 5000 of experience)

Through this level you can get wonderful superpowers to use in the app.

Experience in Lightness are points that are given to you due to your activity in the application.

In Destiny Lights, you can get the experience through the following activities:

• Creation of a new lantern –  4 exp
• Comment a lantern – 3 exp
• Put LIKE on a lantern – 2 exp
• Receive a comment on a lantern that you wrote – 2 exp
• Receive a LIKE on a lantern that you wrote – 1 exp
• Read a lantern – 1 exp
• Save a lantern among your favorites – 1 exp
• Invite a friend to join Destiny Lights application – 15 exp (currently in phase of designing)

In Destiny Lights, once you reach a new level many superpowers become available for you, for free.

Novice :

• unlimited translations, 
• ability to see age in other user’s profile (will be removed soon),
• ability to personalize a profile picture and background (will be removed soon),
• create unlimited number of lanterns,
• write unlimited comments,
• group chat (currently in phase of designing).

Nomad :

• all superpowers of Novice,
• day/night scenery of home page (currently in phase of designing),
• ability to see age in other user’s profile,
• ability to personalize a profile picture and background,
• ability to participate in Anonymous chat  (currently in phase of designing).

Master :

• all superpowers of Nomad,
• ability to see a weather effects on home page  (currently in phase of designing),
• ability to zoom in a profile picture  (currently in phase of designing),
• ability to see who visited your profile page (currently in phase of designing),
• ability to text privately max 5 users per day  (currently in phase of designing).

Grandmaster :

• all superpowers of Master,
• add picture to your lantern (currently in phase of designing),
• add sound to your lantern (currently in phase of designing),
• ability to text privately to an unlimited number of users (currently in phase of designing).

If your lantern or your comment is reported and it violates the Rules of Lightness app your experience level will be halved.

So make sure to never send inappropriate lanterns or comments – this will significantly decrease your experience… and worse, can potentially block your account.
